“ Roy’s in Cairo is a great spot for barbecue lovers, especially if you're a fan of smoked beef. The beef is wonderfully smoked, with a perfect balance of salt that brings out the rich flavors. The service is also worth mentioning—friendly and efficient, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. However, while the food and service impress, the prices are on the high side, which might not offer the best value for money. Overall, Roy’s is a solid choice for quality smoked beef, but the high price may give you pause if you're budget-conscious. ”

“ We actually chose the Marriott because Roy’s was here. This place is a legit Texas Barbecue restaurant, complete with a real pit, slow smoked meats over real wood smoke (no pellets). We ordered the Roy’s special which included a massive beef rib, brisket, pastrami and 2 kinds of sausage. The brisket was perfect, from the bark to the smoke ring to the tenderness. It was well rendered and moist. The beef rib was equally good. It was fall off the bone tender with great flavor. The sausage had a great bite on the casing and very well seasoned. The sauces were good if your a sauce person. Even in Texas I would recommend this place. The staff were attentive and very helpful throughout our meal. Beer was cold, it was like a taste of Fort Worth here in Cairo. Truly a must try if you want authentic BBQ! ”

“ One of the best restaurants in Cairo. This restaurant is within the Marriotts hotel compound , the staff and concierge were very happy to guide us into the right directions, it was located at the bottom of one of the towers. The restaurant itself had a lovely ambience with separate seating for smokers. Customer service was top notch and food was prepared in a very timely manner and served in the correct order as requested. Food was delivered to the table hot and my friend's steak was cooked just as he requested, my brisket burger was one of the best I ever had. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. ”

“ After a long day of traveling, I didn’t want to walk far from the hotel for dinner. Fortunately, there was a restaurant conveniently located within the Marriott, and it exceeded my expectations! The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The drinks were refreshing, and the food was delicious. We ordered a chicken wrap and lamb chops, which was more than enough for the two of us. I noticed that the restaurant added a 12% service charge, so I clarified with the staff that this amount goes to the hotel for all employees, not just our server. Wanting to show our appreciation for our waiter, we decided to leave an additional tip in cash, in addition to the service charge. ”

“ Roy’s Smokehouse is the untapped food opportunity at the Gezira Palace. The food is extremely good and service is excellent. Placement of the restaurant at the base of the Zamalek Tower means it’s not as well known at the hotel, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the delicious food. They smoke the brisket and other meats daily, and the quality is right up there with any Southwest Barbecue restaurant. Service is excellent as well.
